DWS Strikes Again

3 05 2012

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) said in an interview that she believed that agenda of the Republican party and Mitt Romney were clearly “an attack on the issues that matter to women.” She went on to say that Republicans were “making sure that we would redefine rape.”

Really? Are Democrats still trying to play the war on women card? Coming from from the Democratic National Committee Chairman, or should I say Chairwomen so I am not construed as a member of this sexist society, this is absolutely ridiculous.

The reference to redefining rape was to H.R. 3, which I guess she forgot was co-sponsored by Democratic Rep. Dan Lipinski, and 16 Democrats actually voted for it. This bill never mentioned redefining rape of any kind and only used the term “forcible” when discussing federal funding of abortions.

This is coming on the heels of many different liberals saying the the GOP is running a war on women. This is just completely petty arguments that the left is trying to use to paint the right in a negative light in order to capture a key demographic of voters.

I personally think that it is sad that Democrats elected DWS to be the DNC Chairman because she has honestly created more bad publicity for them than good. Reince Priebus, chairman of the RNC, has done well to stay low key in this election so far and not doing anything stupid and detrimental to the Republicans.
