Dear Mr. President

19 07 2012

Dear Mr. President:

Regarding your remark made saying that successful people did not earn that success on their own that the government was the reason that businesses are successful, I take that offensively. Not for me, but for my parents. Both of them have built successful businesses without government help. If anything, their businesses have been on the decline in the recent years with more government  control (and the threat of even more) trying to creep into businesses, and if you cannot read reports, I will just go ahead and tell you that this is a very common occurrence right now across the country.

I disagree with your policies, and I find it utterly sickening that he would say that hard working Americans are not responsible for building their own successful businesses. When this country was founded, our government did not play a role in controlling businesses, and we developed into one of the strongest nations that history has ever seen. If we continue down this path, our country will fall to pieces and will no longer be this superpower we have grown up to know.

It is time to grow up and make bipartisan decisions that will help our country. Also, it’s time to quit blaming Bush and realize that some of your policies are not working. For the first two years of your term, you blamed Bush. Now, with a Republican controlled House, you blame them. I see a common theme right now, and it is blame. A great leader should not blame others for mistakes, but should stand up and admit them. This is a complete lack of leadership from our nation’s president.

Obama’s New Slogan

1 05 2012

Obama’s campaign just released its newest ad with his 2012 reelection slogan. This new slogan is “Forward” with the “o” being is logo from the 2008 election. Essentially the ad lays out what he had done “well” in the past four years. There are many things I dislike about this video, the first of these is the things that he has done well. Most of these things are the reasons that I am not voting for him and will be casting my vote for Mitt Romney in November.

In this list of things, he has a lot of his big wins such as the auto bailout and many other economic policies that he repeats a few times by calling them different things. However, throughout this video his campaign adds random clips that they have in order to appeal to different key voters in the election. I am not saying that this is a bad thing to do because both sides will be doing it, but these clips just stand out a lot. For example, at the 5:43 mark, there is a clip mixed in with “successful” policy legislation that he has past about him appointing the first Latina Supreme Court Justice. Also, there are a few random spots were Don’t Ask Don’t Tell is brought up in the video a few times too.

These two random moments are simply placed in here to try and appeal to demographics that the president is losing Latinos and young people. The Latino appeal is obvious because of the Sonia Sotomayor clip. He is worried about losing the youth vote, so he is bringing in gay rights which younger voters tend to support more.

The are several other huge campaign mistakes in this video, like only showing Romney for a few seconds and when mentioning Republicans, he shows Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity. This is just stupid because he should be attacking Romney and the potential VP nominees.

I would love to elaborate more, but I’ve already written a lot. My source is already linked to above. Feel free to comment!

Some Dems May Not Vote For Obama

21 04 2012

My apologies for not having a post yesterday. It was in no way related to any 4/20 activities.

Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) said Friday that he is unsure if he will vote for Obama or Romney in November. He said that they both have faults, citing energy and economic policies for Obama and lack of understanding of ordinary people for Romney.

Manchin said many of his constituents in West Virginia believe that the last 3 1/2 years haven’t been good for them. He is also encouraging Americans to support any president no matter what political party he or she belongs to.

West Virginia has supported the Republican candidate in the last three presidential election, including 2008 when Obama lost to McCain 56-43 percent. Also, Manchin is considered one of the most moderate Democrats in the Senate and has split with his party on many issues.

Since he is up for reelection this year, at first this seems like it could simply just be a publicity stunt to try and convince his conservative constituents that he more conservative than he really is. However, he isn’t considered vulnerable against his Republican rival. Because of this, this shows the skepticism that many people have concerning another four years of Obama. This is a major problem when a president’s own political party doesn’t have faith in him.

The End Of The Economy?

17 04 2012

If government spending doesn’t slow down, the economy as we know it could end in 2027. After Tim Geithner presented Obama’s budget, Paul Ryan showed a Congressional Budget Office chart that estimates that the American economy will shut down in 2027

The reasoning for this? Government Spending.

So according to this chart, the access government spending that the Obama administration has added to with massive bailout will cause the American economy to collapse in 15 years. This is absolutely ridiculous. This is definitely proof enough that Congress should pass the Balanced Budget Amendment, but Obama and Harry Reid have made sure that this wouldn’t be passed until at least 2013.

Conveniently for Obama, an Australian research scientist has recently come out and said that the MIT research from 1972 is still on track for the global economy to start collapsing in 2030. It looks like we will just be leading the pack in yet another thing.

Obamacare Will Cost $1,160 Billion!

16 04 2012

According to a report released by Charles Blahous of George Mason University, Obamacare will $1,160 billion to federal spending  in the next ten years! It will also add $340 billion to the federal budget deficits.

Apparently the reason Obama said that it would save money is because the “Class Act” provisions that were later deemed impossible. This is just another reason that this law should never have been passed.

While this is not grounds to for the law to be overturned in the Supreme Court, this is just another great example of why if it is not overruled by the Supreme Court, it should be repealed by Congress and the White House.

First of all, I do believe that the individual mandate is unconstitutional and it should overruled, but that is not the only part of this law that is messed up and should be changed. This is just one example of that confirms that this is a mistake.

Leave a comment, and like usual, here is my source:

Obama Aiming for Jimmy Carter’s Goal?

11 04 2012

A recent segment of Hannity showed that Obama is getting dangerously close to surpassing Jimmy Carter’s gas price percentage. Currently, the average gas price is near $4, which is up 90.2% (and according to US News up even more than that) from January 2009, when he was sworn into office. During the Carter administration, gas prices rose 103.77%. Is this what we want in a President that campaigned on a Hope and Change agenda. I personally don’t see a lot of hope in this. I guess things did change, but I can honestly say that they did not change for the better.

If Obama really wanted to help lower gas prices, he would have a different Energy Secretary. Steven Chu said, “Somehow, we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe.” Personally, I know that I do not want to pay nearly $7 or more for gas! This is not appropriate to do when there are numerous amount of people who cannot find jobs. Approving the Keystone pipeline would have been the ideal solution to both of these problems by allowing for more jobs to be created and more gas to easily shipped into this country.
